Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication in DC

June 23 - The official dedication and grand opening of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in West Potomac Park in Washington, D.C. will occur Sunday August 28, 2011 on the 48th anniversary of the March on Washington and Dr. Kings "I have a Dream" Speech.  The event will begin with a pre-dedication concert at 10am followed by the 11am ceremony and post-dedication concert at 2pm.

The mission of the memorial is to commemorate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by leading a collaborative funding, design, and construction process in the creation of a memorial to honor his national and international contributions to world peace through non-violent social change.
