On Sale Now: The Trumpet of Conscience

The latest book in the King Legacy Series, The Trumpet of Conscience is now on sale in both hardcover with a CD as well as in e-book format.  The book features a collection of lectures delivered in 1967 by Martin Luther King, Jr. for the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) Massey Lecture Series.

The book includes original audio recordings of two of King's lectures, "Conscience and the Vietnam War" and "A Christmas Sermon on Peace". With both an original foreword by Coretta Scott King and a new forward by Marian Wright Edelman, the collection offers King's reflections on issues still relevant today, such as racial equality, mobilization of young people, conscience and war, and nonviolence.

Excerpt:

The only real revolutionary, people say, is a man who has nothing to lose. There are millions of poor people in this country who have very little, or even nothing, to lose. If they can be helped to take action together, they will do so with a freedom and a power that will be a new and unsettling force in our complacent national life.
